DRAMA ANIMATION

Mario Azzopardi has been active as coordinator of  EU Grundtvig programmes since the year 2000. As one of Malta's leading social theatre animators he has been involved in many workshops in a European context.  His work has been exported to European countries, including Italy, Austria, Romania, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Latvia and Finland.  His most recent commitment involves him as theatre coordinator of a project which brings several countries together in a bid to understand mutual problems through drama.  Subjects treated "through drama" include domestic violence, drug addiction, alcoholism, loneliness and suicide.

Azzopardi started his mission with social drama in the late nineteen-seventies, when he formed part of  the Drama Unit, a state body which covered educational and social drama in state and private schools.
